The Honourable Lucienne Robillard

President of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs

First elected to the House of Commons in a 1995 by-election, Lucienne Robillard was appointed Minister of Labour and Minister responsible for the federal campaign in the Quebec referendum. In 1996, she became Minister of Citizenship and Immigration and Co-Chair of the Electoral Platform Committee.  In 1999, she was appointed President of the Treasury Board and Minister responsible for Infrastructure.  In 2003, she was named Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec.

Elected to the Quebec National Assembly in 1989 representing Chambly, Mme. Robillard held several provincial cabinet positions between 1989 and 1994: Cultural Affairs, Higher Education and Science, Education and Science, and Health and Social Services.

Mme. Robillard obtained a master's degree in social work from the Université de Montréal, and a diploma in administration and a master of business administration degree from Montreal's École des hautes études commerciales.
