  • The columns under STATUS UNDER THE FOLLOWING ACTS denote whether or not the organization is subject to the Public Service Staff Relations Act (PSSRA), the Financial Administration Act (FAA), the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA), the Public Service Superannuation Act (PSSA), the Official Languages Act (OLA) and the Access to Information and Privacy Acts (AIPA).

P.C. decision 2005-0725 fixes January 12, 2006 as the day upon which sections 21 to 39, 72, 74, 75 and 77 of this Act , Bill C-6, comes into force other than paragraphs 24(1)(a), (e) and (g). 
Canada Border Services Agency BSF SOL   1   P.C. decisions 2003-2057 to 2003-2070 amends the Schedules of the various Acts by adding the Canada Border Services Agency, effective December 12, 2003.
Bill C-26 (38/01), as passed by the HOC on June 13, 2005, establishes the Canada Border Services, which was first created by order in council on December 12, 2003.
The New FAA code will change to IV. 
Canada Customs and Revenue Agency NAR REV 3   Bill C-43 (36/1), as passed by the HoC on December 8, 1998, establishes the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency to carry out the mandate of the Department of National Revenue and repeals the Department of National Revenue Act.
Royal Assent: April 29, 1999.
P.C. decisions 1999-1714 to 1999-1736 fixes Monday, November 1, 1999, as the day upon which this Act (Bill C-43) shall come into force, as well as various appointments to the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.
NOTE: The Canada Customs and Revenue Agency kept the Org. Code (NAR) previously assigned to the Department of National Revenue, effective November 1, 1999.
Min. Affil. changed from NAR to REV.
P.C. decision 2004-0353, dated March 30, 2004, specifies that subsections 37.3 (1) and (2) of the PSEA apply to Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, effective April 1, 2004.
Bill C-26 (38/01) , as passed by the HOC on June 13, 2005 continues the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency under the name of the Canada Revenue Agency. 
Canada Development Investment Corporation CDI FIN 0   Incorporated in 1982 by the Canada Development Investment Corporation under the Canada Business Corporations Act. Letters patent, May 26, 1982; Schedule III, Part II of the FAA; an agent of Her Majesty.
Bill C-36 (36/1), as passed by the HOC on May 27, 1998, authorizes the dissolution of the Corporation, and on the day to be fixed by order of the GIC will strike out the corporation from the FAA.
Royal Assent: June 18, 1998.  
Canada Emission Reduction Incentives Advisory Board REI DOE         Bill C-43, as passed by the HOC on June 16, 2005, establishes the Canada Emission Reduction Incentives Advisory Board.
Royal Assent: June 29th, 2005.
The GIC shall appoint an advisory board of not more than 12 members to hold office during pleasure for a term of not more than three years, which term may be renewed for one or more further terms.
P.C. decision 2005-1718 fixes October 3, 2005 as the day on which Part 13 (Canada Emission Reductions Incentives Agency Act) of the Budget Implementation Act, 2005, being chapter 30 of the Statutes of Canada, 2005, comes into force. 
Canada Emission Reduction Incentives Agency RED DOE     1   Bill C-43, as passed by the HOC on June 16, 2005, establishes the Canada Emission Reduction Incentives Agency.
Royal Assent: June 29th, 2005.
P.C. decision 2005-1718 fixes October 3, 2005 as the day on which Part 13 (Canada Emission Reductions Incentives Agency Act) of the Budget Implementation Act, 2005, being chapter 30 of the Statutes of Canada, 2005, comes into force.

Cape Breton Development Corporation CBD RSN 0   Incorporated in 1967 by the Cape Breton Development Corporation Act, (R.S.C. 1985, c. C-25); Schedule III, part I of the FAA; an agent of Her Majesty.
Minister of IST designated as the minister for the Corporation as per P.C. decision 1990-396.
P.C. decision 1995-612 designates the Minister of Natural Resources as the Minister responsible.
Bill C-11 (36/2), as passed by the HoC on June 7, 2000, authorizes the divestiture of the assets of, and to dissolve, the Cape Breton Development Corporation .
Royal Assent: June 29, 2000. 
Department of Foreign Affairs EXT EXT 1     Created in 1909 as the Department of External Affairs.
Bill C-47 (35/1) as passed by the HoC on February 8, 1995, continues the Department of External Affairs under the name of Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
Royal Assent: March 26, 1995.
P.C. decision 1995-770 fixes May 13, 1995, as the day on which the above-mentioned Act comes into force.
P.C. 2003-2049 transfers portions of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade to the Department of International Trade, effective December 12, 2003.
Bill C-32 (38/01) proposes to continue the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade under the name of the Department of Foreign Affairs. 
Department of Human Resources and Skills Development CSD CSD 1     P.C. decisions 2003-2035 to 2003-2045 amends the Schedules of the various Acts by adding the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development, effective December 12, 2003.
Bill C-23 (38/01), as passed by the HOC on June 1, 2005 establishes the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development.
NOTE: The code under New FAA will change to I when in effect.
Royal Assent: July 20th, 2005.
P.C. decision 2005-1749 fixes October 5, 2005, as the day on which this Act, being Chapter 34 of the Statutes of Canada, 2005, comes into force.
P.C. decision 2005-1750 amends Schedule IV to the Financial Administration Act by striking out the reference to the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development. 
Department of Human Resources Development REH REH 1     Bill C-96 (35/1) proposes to establish the Department of Human Resources Development with a presiding Minister to be appointed by commission under the Great Seal of Canada, with the powers, duties and functions as therein set out, and a Deputy Minister to be appointed by the GIC, with provision for employees.
Bill C-11 (35/2) printed, pursuant to Order made March 4, 1996, in the same form as Bill C-96 (35/1), was passed by the HoC on April 23, 1996.
Royal Assent: May 29, 1996.
P.C. decision 1996-1143 fixes Friday, July 12, 1996, as the day upon which this Act shall come into force.
Bill C-23 (38/01) , as passed by the HOC on June 1, 2005 repeals the Department of Human Resources Development Act.
Royal Assent: July 20, 2005.
P.C. decision 2005-1749 fixes October 5, 2005, as the day on which this Act, being Chapter 34 of the Statutes of Canada, 2005, comes into force. 
Department of International Trade CTI CTI 1     P.C. decisions 2003-2046 to 2003-2056 amend the Schedules of the various Acts by adding the Department of International Trade, effective December 12, 2003.
Bill C-31(38/01) proposes to establish the Department of International Trade.
NOTE: The code under the New FAA will change to a I upon effective date. 
Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness PSP PSP   1     Bill C-6 (38/01), as passed by the HOC on November 17, 2004 establishes the Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.
Royal Assent: March 23, 2005. 
Department of Social Development DSL DSL 1     Bill C-22 (38/1), as passed by the HOC on June 8, 2005 establishes the Department of Social Development.
Royal Assent: July 20th, 2005.
P.C. decision 2005-1746 fixes October 5, 2005, as the day on which this Act, being chapter 35 of the Statutes of Canada, 2005, comes into force. 
Department of the Solicitor General SOL SOL 1     Created in 1966.
Bill C-6 (38/01), as passed by the HOC on November 7, 2004, repeals the Department of the Solicitor General.
Royal Assent: March 23, 2005. 
Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec FRD FRD 1     Created as the Federal Office of Regional Development -- Quebec by P.C. decision 1991-1111.
P.C. decision 1993-1906 designates the Minister of Finance as the appropriate Minister for the purposes of the Federal Office of Regional Development - Quebec.
P.C. decision 1994-1541 transfers from the Minister of Finance to the Minister of Industry, Science and Technology, the powers, duties and functions.
Correction to P.C. 1994-1541 (Canada Gazette copy) - Minister responsible is Minister of Finance.
P.C. decision 1996-121 transfers to the Minister of Industry the responsibility for FRD.
P.C. decisions 1998-183 to 1998-189 amends P.C. decision 1996-121 which transfer additional responsibilities to the Minister of Industry and update the name of that agency, along with other amendments, effective February 23, 1998.
Correction to PSSRA code - is not subject to PSSRA according to the Schedules of PSSRA.
P.C. decision 2003-1963 amends Schedule I to the Public Service Staff Relations Act by the addition of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, effective December 5, 2003.
P.C. decision 2004-0866 transfers the control and supervision of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec to the Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister responsible for the Francophonie; and directing that he or she shall preside over it, effective July 20, 2004.
Bill C-9 (38/01), as passed by the HOC on June 1, 2005 establishes the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and specifies the powers, duties and functions of the responsible Minister of the Agency.
Royal Assent: June 23, 2005.
Note: New FAA will change to IV when there is an effective date.

Greenhouse Gas Technology Investment Fund Advisory Board GTI NAR         Bill C-43, as passed by the HOC on June 16, 2005, establishes the Greenhouse Gas Technology Investment Fund Advisory Board.

Training and Development Canada CES                 Special Operating Agency created the 15/12/89.
Approved by Treasury Board the 01/04/90.
Bill C-25 (37/2), as passed by the HoC on June 3, 2003, amalgamates Training and Development Canada and the Canadian Centre for Management Development into a new institution of learning, the Canada School of Public Service.
Royal Assent: November 7, 2003.
P.C. decision 2004-0366, dated March 31, 2004, fixes April 1, 2004 as the date on which each person employed in the Training and Development Canada assumes a position in the Canada School of Public Service.
Training and Development Canada revoked at the October 3rd Treasury Board meeting 
Yukon Surface Rights Board YUS IAN 0     Bill C-55 (35/1), as passed by the HoC on November 25, 1994, establishes this Board.
Royal Assent: December 15, 1994.
Bill C-39 (37/1), as passed by the HoC on December 3, 2001, repeals the Yukon Surface Rights Board Act.
Royal Assent: March 27, 2002.
P.C. decision 2003-0394, dated March 27, 2003, fixes April 1, 2003, as the day of coming into force of the Act.
Correction on June 23, 2004: The effective date of April 1, 2003 is for the coming into force of the Yukon Act. The Yukon Surface Rights Board Act has not yet had an effective date of being repealed.
