Arctic Refuge Treasures

Caribou cow and calfThe Porcupine Caribou herd, which migrate between the U.S. and Canada, have their core calving grounds in Alaska's Arctic Refuge on lands that may soon be opened for petroleum exploration. Drilling would however, have devastating impacts on either side of the border, both for the herd and for the Gwich'in First Nations who rely on the herd for their way of life.
