The Regulations Amending the Charges for Services Provided by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Regulations 2002 were pre-published in the December 10, 2005 issue of the Canada Gazette Part I. The proposed Regulations would reduce the number of service charges from 52 to 14.
Pre-Publication of the Order Amending the Schedule to the Insurance Companies Act
The Order Amending the Schedule to the Insurance Companies Act was pre-published in the September 3, 2005 issue of the Canada Gazette Part I (page 2941). The proposed revised Schedule forms the basis for federal class definitions to be harmonized with most provincial and territorial definitions.
The Regulations Amending the Assets (Foreign Companies) Regulations are published in the October 11, 2003 issue of the Canada Gazette, Part I. The Regulations are being revised to change the asset valuation basis to book value, determined in accordance with accounting principles. This change will ensure a consistent approach to valuing insurance liabilities in Canada and the assets that support those liabilities.
