Studies show that voter turnout among Canadians is at an unprecedented
low. In fact, it's been declining since the late '80s. Elections Canada,
however, is even more concerned about the low rates of young voter
turnout because today's youth are the future of this country. According to Elections
Canada's research, in the federal election in 2000, young voter turnout was
approximately 25%.
