You Can Vote in Advance as of Friday OTTAWA, Wednesday, January 11, 2006 — Advance voting begins Friday for the general election of January 23, 2006. Electors who wish to vote before election day may do so on Friday, January 13, Saturday, January 14, and Monday, January 16, 2006. The advance polls are open from noon to 8:00 p.m. (local time). "Canadians have the opportunity to exercise the right to vote on any one of the three advance voting days," stated The address of the advance poll where an elector may vote is indicated on the back of the voter information card. An elector who did not receive a voter information card or who received one with incorrect information may contact the office of the returning officer in his or her electoral district. The office addresses and telephone numbers of returning officers are listed at www.elections.ca, or may be obtained by calling the Voter Information Service at Electors who vote in advance may not vote again on election day.
