Funding of Festivals and
Sporting events
Canada Economic Development’s
objective is to support the marketing and renewal of festivals and sporting
events in Quebec in an effort to attract an international clientele.
CANtex (Canadian Textiles Program)
CANtex is a new $26.7 million
initiative over three years introduced
by the
Government of Canada in 2004 to help Canadian textile manufacturing firms become
more competitive and ready to take advantage of new opportunities.
Canadian Apparel and Textile Industries
Program (CATIP)
The purpose of the Canadian Apparel and Textile
Industries Program (CATIP) is to work in partnership with the apparel and
textile companies so they can become more innovative and ready to pursue new
market opportunities.
Community Futures Program (CFP)
National program provides support to communities to
taking charge of their own local economic development.

responsible for the national coordination of these efforts.
Among its many initiatives, the
Government of Canada, in conjunction with the provinces, territories,
municipalities, First Nations and the private sector, has established a various
joint infrastructure programs. In Quebec, Canada Economic Development
administers the Canada-Quebec Infrastructure
Works Program and the
Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund
on behalf of the Government of Canada.
