Conference Presentations

In an effort to keep pace with new and emerging evaluation methodology, this conference intends to offer a forum for the presentation of new and improved methods suited to the evaluation of social and labour-market programs and policies. This conference also aims to provide fresh perspectives that will challenge analysts and researchers to explore the possibilities for incorporating the methods into their research designs. To this end, distinguished speakers from Canadian and American government organizations and academic institutions are invited to share their research and expertise in evolving research domains. Applied research topics relevant to our work and proposed for the conference include: dealing with missing variables and proxies; selection bias correction techniques; expanding on the set of economic and social effectiveness measures typically used; and alternative measurement methods (simulations, evaluation synthesis).

This conference is aimed at individuals interested in the assessment of the effectiveness of social and labour-market programs, including practitioners in government, academia and the private sector.
