Public Works and Government Services Canada develops, implements and maintains departmental policies that are in line with Treasury Board policies. The department is often requested to share this information with other government departments. Access to these documents is provided in order to promote collaboration across government and to assist employees working from home or in remote areas.
Departmental Policies (DP) are produced in order to communicate PWGSC's
position or commitment towards a specific subject matter. Developed by functional
authorities, the departmental policies, previously known as Deputy Minister (DM)
Directives, provide a continuing authoritative reference for departmental
employees.
The Departmental Policy Section of the Information Management Services Directorate, Corporate Services, Human Resources and Communications Branch, provides advice,
analysis and editing services to authors of departmental policies. This Section also
manages the approval and distribution processes, including the posting of new or
revised departmental policies to the PWGSC Intranet site.
