The Public Opinion Research Directorate, within the Government Information Services Branch of PWGSC, offers a number of key research-related services to other Government of Canada organizations including the following:
Public Opinion Advisory Services
Public Works and Government Services Canada coordinates public opinion research for the Government of Canada through the Public Opinion Research Directorate. We provide coordination and advisory services for public opinion research. We facilitate studies by guiding client departments throughout the entire process — from the research planning to the receipt of the final report — to ensure research objectives are met and that the research undertaken conforms with Government of Canada policies and market research industry standards.
What services do we provide?
Advise at each stage of public opinion research project planning and implementation.
Coordinate public opinion research across the Government of Canada.
Facilitate the procurement process on behalf of client departments.
Ensure Treasury Board policies and regulations on the coordination and purchase of public opinion research are respected.
Share results/information by placing the final research reports in the public domain and sharing results with interested departments.

Annual Report
Provides an overview of the growing number of research projects conducted each year by departments and agencies and highlights trends in public opinion research across the Government of Canada.
Searchable Collection of Reports
Public opinion research reports conducted by the Government of Canada since 1994 are available to the public at Library and Archives Canada and the Library of Parliament.
Final Reports On-line
Read final reports of public opinion research studies on-line on the Library
and Archives Canada Internet site.

Listening to Canadians - Communications Surveys
Listening to Canadians surveys were conducted three times a year to measure Canadians' views on public policy priorities, and their assessment of how the Government of Canada serves Canadians in responding to those priorities. The survey results are shared with other departments and agencies and are available by region or demographic grouping.
