Government-Wide Review of Procurement
On December 12, 2003, the Prime Minister named the Honourable Walt
Lastewka as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Works
and Government Services, with special emphasis on Procurement Review.
The Government-Wide Review of Procurement flows directly from this
mandate.
Mr. Lastewka has gathered data from within government, major private
sector procurement organizations, academia, other jurisdictions
and suppliers. Based on this research, the Task Force has developed a Concept Paper which would provide increased benefits
for Canadians, as well as improve the openness, integrity and efficiency
of the government.
This Concept Paper is the basis for discussions with stakeholders taking place in September and October 2004.
