New web search trend: local searches
December 12, 2005 - The latest emerging trend on the Web: local searches provides detailed information of your visitors that is easy to navigate and understand. Webmasters can now track the popularity and effectiveness of their content, keywords, marketing strategies and more, by simply adding 5 lines of HTML code.

Local search example: http://local.google.com

Web search statistics:
- On an average, nearly 60 million people use search engines
- Since June 2004, use of search engines on a typical day has risen   from 30% to 41% of the internet-using population.
- In August 2005, 447 829 790 local search were conducted. These   searches involve "local qualifiers" - or search terms including specific   items such as ZIP codes, telephone numbers and street addresses.
- Of these search, Google and Yahoo! lead the market with   respectively 43.7% and 28.2% share of local search.
