The Government of Canada Announces the
re-appointment of Marc Rochon as Chairman of
the Canada Lands Company Limited

Ottawa, Ontario - The Minister of State (Infrastructure and Communities), the Honourable John Godfrey, today announced the re-appointment of Marc Rochon as Chairman of the board of directors of Canada Lands Company Limited, for a second term.

“I’m very pleased that Mr. Rochon accepted a second term,” said Minister Godfrey. “Under his leadership, Canada Lands Company Limited has been focusing on how surplus strategic government properties across Canada can be redeveloped to improve quality of life and meet community needs, while at the same time, provide the best value for the government and the Canadian public. I’m sure that during Mr. Rochon’s second term, the corporation will continue to thrive and contribute to the Government of Canada’s priorities, especially in the development of sustainable communities where the corporation is active.”

As part of the Government’s policy of providing a greater role for Parliamentarians in reviewing appointments, Mr. Rochon’s nomination was referred to the Standing Committee on the Environment and Sustainable Development.

Canada Lands Company Limited (CLCL) is a Crown corporation created by the Government of Canada to dispose of its surplus strategic real estate. It works through its subsidiary, Canada Lands Company CLC Limited to purchase properties at fair market value, and then improves, manages or sells them in order to produce the best possible benefits for both local communities and the Government of Canada.
