Climate for Change

As the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP 11 COP/MOP 1) approaches, the media are certain to stir up a flurry of interest in this controversial issue. National, regional and local newspapers, radio and television stations will give the issue more and more time as politicians, scientists and non-governmental organizations from the world over arrive in Montreal (November 28 to December 9, 2005) to participate in the next round of international climate change negotiations. They will continue to work out the rules for compliance with the Kyoto Protocol and will begin to look to the post-Kyoto period.

Alternatives Journal
is an independent Canadian environmental magazine that has been published since 1971. Our aim is to promote understanding and dialogue among scholars, professionals, activists, students and other citizens concerned about environmental affairs, and in particular the social and political dimensions of the environmental crisis.

Each issue contains feature articles along with news reports, commentaries and reviews covering a broad range of concerns, controversies and initiatives centred on environmental thought, policy and action.
