External Review of CIHR

President's Message: Update on the External Review of CIHR

As part of its commitment to accountability and transparency in delivering results to Canadians, CIHR's Governing Council has commissioned its first External Review of CIHR as a whole and of its thirteen Institutes. The purpose is to obtain rigorous, authoritative and objective advice on:

Terms of Reference for the External Review of CIHR

An International Review Panel of 27 experts will conduct the review in February 2006 and report its findings and recommendations to the CIHR Governing Council. For the purpose of reviewing the 13 CIHR Institutes and their related health research areas, the Panel has been divided into 7 teams and will focus on these areas for the first two days of their review.
