BLUEFIN TUNA FISHING BY PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND FISHERMEN
Charlottetown, P.E.I. - The Department of Fisheries and
Oceans (DFO) wishes to advise Prince Edward Island's tuna fishermen
who plan to participate in the 1996 ex-sector tuna fishery, off
southwest Nova Scotia, that they must register with the Department
prior to 4:00 p.m. on July 18, 1996.
To register, fishermen must contact the DFO Licensing Service
Centre located in Charlottetown at (902) 566-7814 or 1-800-550-5639.
Fishermen will have to provide the Centre with information on
his/her name, vessel name, C.F.V. number and ex-sector port to
be used in this fishery.
Details of the ex-sector tuna fishery will be made available in
early August.
Please note that the Licensing Service Centre is opened from 9:00
a.m. to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
