HALIFAX - Recreational fishermen in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island are now able to head out to catch themselves a feed of groundfish.

The last of the areas in the Maritimes that were closed to recreational groundfish (cod, haddock, pollock, flatfish and other species) fishing opened June 22, and will be closed again on September 16, 1996, according to the federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO).

The daily catch limit is 10 groundfish per individual, of which only one can be Atlantic halibut.
