FISHERIES AND OCEANS SCIENTISTS TO HOLD A SERIES OF WORKSHOPS ON GROUNDFISH AND HERRING
MONCTON - Staff from Marine Fish Division (Science - Maritimes
Region) will be holding a series of information and consultation workshops
on GROUNDFISH and HERRING in the southern Gulf of St. Lawrence (4T). During
the meetings, biologists from DFO (Moncton) will present the results of
surveys and sentinel fisheries conducted in 1996 and give a summary of
ongoing research. This will be followed by a discussion of the status of
the stocks where fishermen will be invited to present their views on the
state of these resources and make suggestions on research initiatives.
