EX-SECTOR BLUEFIN TUNA FISHERY REGISTRATION EASTERN NEW BRUNSWICK

TRACADIE -- The Department of Fisheries and Oceans announced today that registration is required for Eastern New Brunswick tuna fishers who plan to fish the ex-sector tuna fishery off Southwest Nova Scotia for 1998. Fishers have until 1600 hours (4:00 pm) on July 3, 1998 to register with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans at the Eastern Area Office in Tracadie. Fishers should contact DFO at (506) 395-7718 to ensure that their application is processed.

Registration can take place by telephone, by fax at (506) 395-3809. Each fisher must provide his/her name, vessel name and VRN vessel number which is to be used in the tuna fishery and port of operation in the ex-sector.
