Transportation
The Council of Ministers Responsible
for Transportation and Highway Safety holds annual discussions on such
issues as a national transportation investment program, the national highway
system, road safety, fuel prices, heavy vehicles, grain transportation and
railway issues, airline restructuring, and the environmental impact of
transportation use.
Transport Canada works to set
policies, regulations and standards to protect the safety, security and
efficiency of Canada's rail, marine, road and air transportation systems.
Many transportation initiatives give rise to federal-provincial-territorial
agreements.
