Prime Minister announces new Associate Deputy Minister of Human Resources Development

Prime Minister Jean Chrétien today announced the appointment of Claire Morris, currently Secretary to Cabinet and Clerk of the Executive Council, Government of New Brunswick, as Associate Deputy Minister of Human Resources Development.

Mrs. Morris joined the New Brunswick public service in 1970, and has held progressively more senior positions since that time. Prior to assuming her current position in 1993, Mrs. Morris was Deputy Minister of the Policy Secretariat for the New Brunswick Government. A native of Ottawa, Ontario, she studied at the University of Toronto where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts and later her Masters of Social Work.

This appointment is effective December 1, 1998.
