First elected to the House of Commons in 1988, Joe Fontana was named Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Industry with special emphasis on Small Business in 2003. Mr. Fontana has chaired the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration and has served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport from 1993 to February 1996. He has also served on the standing committees on Transport, on Industry, Science and Technology, and on Finance.
