A New Website for Library and Archives Canada: www.collectionscanada.ca
About Us
The New Website
The new Library and Archives Canada website integrates the former National Library of Canada and National Archives of Canada sites.
This site represents phase 1 of the website integration. It includes:
- a common home page;
- combined index pages to our resources;
- consistent top navigational toolbars throughout all pages;
- a new, sophisticated site search that provides access to resources from the two former websites
Later phases will include further integration of lower level site pages, ongoing revision of the site architecture, and upgrades to the technical infrastructure.
A New Web Address
The new Library and Archives Canada Web address is:
This replaces the addresses of the two former sites:
- www.nlc-bnc.ca (National Library of Canada)
- www.archives.ca (National Archives of Canada)
Links pointing to the old addresses will be automatically forwarded to the new address.
Updating Your Links
When you use your old National Library or National Archives links or bookmarks:
- if the page still exists you will be automatically re-directed to it;
- if the page has been replaced by a new Library and Archives Canada page, you will be sent to the new page;
- if the page has been removed and there is no corresponding new page, you will receive a message providing a suggested address where you may be able to find the same information.
In all cases, we recommend that you update your bookmarks to reflect the changes to the site.
