Information Bulletin - Final Implementation of an Act to amend the Copyright Act (Bill C-32)

In particular, the order implements certain exceptions that will allow radio and television broadcasters to make temporary copies (ephemeral recordings) of performances of copyright works to facilitate programming and broadcasting operations. These exceptions are subject to certain conditions and limitations, including, for example, limits on the duration that the copies may be kept, and certain record-keeping requirements pertaining to the copies.

The order also implements new remedies for copyright infringement. These are statutory damages, the "wide injunction" and the possibility of initiating summary proceedings in copyright infringement cases.
