Virtual Museum of Canada (VMC) Investment Program
Become a CHIN member and participate in the Virtual Museum of Canada (VMC)!
A call for proposals was issued on January 20, 2006 with a deadline of February 23, 2006, 5 p.m., Eastern Time.

The VMC Investment Program is open to all public, not-for-profit
museums that have demonstrated their commitment to work collaboratively
with colleagues across the country by becoming contributing or basic
members of the Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN); and to
organizations that have an ongoing role in representing museums or
managing several institutions and that are making proposals on behalf
of multiple museums.
Prior to preparing a proposal, consult the FAQ
(Frequently Asked Questions) and VMC
Program Guidelines, which provide information about the Program
objectives, operating principles and content policy, along with the list
of criteria for investment
and eligible and
non-eligible costs.
Please visit this site during each call, as the Guidelines and proposal
form may be revised from the previous round.
Consult the tips sheet prior to completing the proposal form for the production of VMC content. All documentation must be submitted, along with the proposal form, in an electronic format that is easily accessible on the Web, as this is how the VMC Editorial Board members access all reference material.
Based on the Editorial Board's recommendations, VMC contracts or VMC joint Project Agreements are prepared between the lead institution and CHIN. See Approved Proposals to date.
The VMC is part of the Department of Canadian Heritage's Canadian Culture Online initiative. For more information about the Canadian Culture Online Program (CCOP), please visit the CCOP Web site.
