FEDERAL-PROVINCIAL-TERRITORIAL AGREEMENTS IN THE AREA OF EDUCATION

Some investments are made within the framework of a Protocol for Agreements reached between the Government of Canada and the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC), the key partner for federal intervention in the area of education. This Protocol sets the framework for all the bilateral agreements in the field.

The Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) also administers the bursary programs Explore and Destination Clic and the language assistant programs Odyssey (full-time) and Accent (part-time) in cooperation with the Department of Education or the provincial/territorial department responsible for post-secondary education.

Annual or multi-year cost-sharing agreements are also reached with each of the provincial and territorial governments for minority-language education to offer to members of official-language minority communities an education in their own language and for instruction of English and French as second official languages.

The table below lists all documents and reports relating to the 2004-2009 program cycle in the area of education. Click here to access documents from the 1999-2004 program cycle. Information in this section is regularly updated.
