Canadian Apparel & Textile Industries Program

National Initiatives Component

Note:
Due to demand for program funding, if you are considering submitting an application for funding under the Firm Component or National Initiatives Component of CATIP, please first contact the CATIP representative at 613 948-4065.

Eligible Clients

CATIP will work in partnership with: 

  • apparel and textile industry associations;
  • not-for-profit organizations;
  • corporations and consortia of other not-for-profit organizations.

CATIP will not duplicate activities which are normally undertaken or considered to be part of the mandate of other government stakeholders.

Eligible Projects

  • Developing a global strategy, including marketing studies and other related activities, to brand Canadian apparel and textile products.
  • Branding and marketing Canadian apparel and textile products.
  • Establishing electronic business initiatives.

Eligible Costs

Contributions may be made of up to 90 percent of the eligible costs of approved projects: 

  • salaries, wages and employee benefits;
  • materials and supplies;
  • consultants and other professional services.

Cost of fixed assets will not be eligible.

What Else?

CATIP funds have been set aside for: 

  • trade development activities;
  • awareness campaigns aimed at sensitizing financial institutions to the specific needs and parameters of the apparel and textile industries.
