Institute for Research in Construction
The National Research Council's Institute for Research in Constrruction (IRC) is Canada's construction technology centre. Established in 1947, IRC provides research, building code development, and materials evaluation services. Working with partners, IRC addresses issues that have a large economic impact, assisting industry to innovate and develop technologies that are safe, durable and cost-effective.

Emerging Construction Technologies
The purpose of this site is to present Emerging Construction Technologies that could produce a "High Impact" in the construction industry. The technologies are divided into five areas: Civil, Mechanical, Internet-based, Electrical and Other. Each technology is presented in fact sheets describing: the need, the technology, the benefits, status, barriers, points of contact and references.
