About Us

The challenge of the TTC - Bio-Industries is to bring together the knowledge and capabilities of federal, provincial and private sector stakeholders to:

  • Develop and implement Bio-Industries sector plans;
  • Deliver international business development services to clients with the common objective of supporting growth and jobs through increased success in international business markets;
  • Improve overall communication and consultation with clients.

TTC - Bio-Industries will cover the following biotechnology subsectors:

  • Agriculture
  • Energy
  • Environment
  • Aquaculture
  • Forestry
  • Mining
  • Health

TTC will focus on international business development, including trade, investment and technology development/promotion.

The stakeholders who participate will have an established interest in international trade and investment promotion or be actively involved in international business development and be willing to work actively within a team of players, to share their expertise and information, and to create synergy to improve the international competitiveness of the bio-industries sector in Canada.

Structure:
The structure of TTC will be based on a "hub and spoke" model, comprised of a core sector team linked to various working groups and stakeholders in the wider team membership. The core sector team will provide the broader governance of the TTC, while the working groups will undertake specialist and operational functions.
