Urban Poverty and Environment (UPE) Program |
The Cities Feeding People (CFP) Program and the Environmental Management Secretariat (EMS) have evolved into the Urban Poverty & Environment Program since April 1, 2005. The website is undergoing important changes, please stay tuned! The Urban Poverty & Environment Program (UPE) funds research and activities in developing countries that apply integrated and participatory approaches to reducing environmental burdens on the urban poor and enhancing the use of natural resources for food, water and income security. UPE has a long-term vision in which urban citizens thrive in healthy and dignified living environments where all municipal stakeholders, including the most marginalized, play an effective role in sustainable development.
