![]() Economic Policy: A Report from the Mission on Economic Analysis and Policy Formulation for Post-Apartheid South Africa Edited by Marc van Ameringen IDRC 1995 ISBN 0-88936-756-6 120 pp. ![]() ![]() Beginning with a discussion between Nelson Mandela and former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, the 1991 economic policy mission looked at the requirements of the South African democratic movement to conduct economic research and develop economic policy. Its final report outlined how these needs could be met in the period leading up to the transition to a nonracial and democratic South Africa. This volume presents the Mission's original report, together with a foreword by Nelson Mandela and a new, in-depth, and critical assessment of the process of economic policy formulation that has taken place to date.
