CASE 2: Building better health

The Tanzania Essential Health Interventions Project (TEHIP) shows how health systems benefit when local communities and officials contribute to key decisions and participate in efforts to improve health services. Whether it is making bricks to rebuild dispensaries or speaking up at village meetings, people are assuming responsibility for their futures.
