The Energy and Environmental Industries Branch works in partnership with industry, federal and provincial organizations to increase the competitiveness of manufacturing and service activities within Canadian energy and environment sectors to promote the growth of a dynamic and innovative economy.

The focus is primarily on petroleum and electric power-related equipment and services, development of the hydrogen economy, renewable energy, waste management, water treatment and soil remediation.

The Branch also researches, analyzes and influences a range of policy issues, as well as delivers on trade, investment, technology development and diffusion initiatives for the energy and environment sectors.
