Opportunities Envelope – Key Dates

The Opportunities Envelope (OE) Secretariat has received 38 proposals seeking funding commencing in fiscal year 2004/05 (up to March 31, 2005). The OE Secretariat is currently in the process of screening these proposals for completeness and eligibility, and providing feedback to each province and territory.

The proposals that have been screened in will then be reviewed by members of the External Review Roster to provide third-party advice on their cost-effectiveness. The target date for completion of external reviews is mid-October. Recommended proposals will be sent to Treasury Board for final approval later in the Fall with funds made available to successful proponents beginning in early 2005, following negotiation of contribution agreements.

The deadline for submitting the first batch of proposals requiring funding in 2005/06 is the end of October 2004. Proponents will also be able to submit proposals at later times for any remaining unallocated funding.
