Social economy measures

Canada Economic Development is implementing two measures to foster the social economy and contribute to the success of enterprises operating in this sector.

The Capacity Building pilot initiative is aimed at developing and strengthening the social economy in Quebec. It enables social economy support organizations to:

  • develop strategies aimed at fostering the growth of social economy enterprises

  • intensify co-operation among social economy stakeholders and between social economy  stakeholders and other development players

  • develop guidance and technical assistance tools and services aimed at building management abilities and the competitiveness of social economy enterprises.

The Social Economy Patient Capital Fund aims to foster the creation and expansion of social economy enterprises and greater financial self-sufficiency of these enterprises. Le Chantier de l'économie sociale is the organization responsible for the management of the Patient Capital Fund.
