President's Biography
Michelle d'Auray was appointed Deputy Minister (now called President) of the Economic
Development Agency of Canada for Quebec Regions on May 10, 2004.
She had previously held the position of Chief Information Officer for the
Government of Canada since September 2000. In that capacity, Ms. d'Auray guided the strategic direction of
service delivery, and the use of information and communication technology in the
federal government.
She also exercised functional
leadership of the government's information management and information technology specialists, in addition to leading
and co-ordinating the government's service improvement initiative.
Prior to her appointment as Chief Information Officer, Ms. d'Auray held a
number of senior management positions with organizations within the Government
of Canada, including the Department of Canadian Heritage, Industry Canada's
Electronic Commerce Branch and the Privy Council Office. Ms. d'Auray has also
held a number of management positions in the arts sector, including positions
within the National Film Board and the Canadian Council of the Arts. Previously,
she worked in the private and not-for-profit sectors.
