Who should read this?

You should read this if you are interested in obtaining financial support for studies in a master's or doctoral program. The information and types of awards outlined here are relevant only to graduate students, or those considering graduate studies within the next year
Canada Graduate Scholarships
Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) provide financial support to the most outstanding eligible scholars pursuing master's or doctoral studies in a Canadian university. The Government of Canada established these prestigious scholarships, to be awarded through national competitions by the granting agencies, to ensure a reliable supply of highly qualified personnel to meet the needs of Canada's knowledge economy. Canada Graduate Scholars will help renew faculty at Canadian universities and will be the research leaders of tomorrow.
Industrial Postgraduate Scholarships

Industrial Postgraduate Scholarships (IPS) provide financial support for highly qualified science and engineering graduates. The support allows them to gain research experience in industry while undertaking advanced studies in Canada. These scholarships are aimed at encouraging scholars to consider research careers in industry where they will be able to contribute to strengthening Canadian innovation.

NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships

NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships (PGS) provide financial support to high-calibre scholars who are engaged in master's or doctoral programs in the natural sciences or engineering. This support allows these scholars to fully concentrate on their studies and to seek out the best research mentors in their chosen fields. NSERC encourages qualified Aboriginal students who are interested in the program to apply.

Northern Research Internships

Northern Research Internships are tenable in a northern Canadian organization that will benefit from the research conducted, either directly or through the sharing of knowledge. The support allows graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to facilitate extended stays and subsidize the costs associated with activities in the North.

Postgraduate Supplements

Summer Programs in Japan or Taiwan

The Summer Programs in Japan or Taiwan provide graduate students in science and engineering with a hands-on research experience, and an introduction to a different culture, language, and university research system.
