Description

The six maps on this plate illustrate the 1951 distribution of primary farm animals. The maps show cows for milk, beef cattle, swine, sheep, hens/chickens, and horses. Each map is accompanied by a pie chart showing the percentage distribution of each type of animal by province. Note that the cows for milk map shows the distribution of cows and heifers kept mainly for milk purposes that were two years old or older and that the beef cattle map includes cows and heifers kept mainly for beef purposes as well as steers that were one year old or older.
