Description

The map on this plate shows the permanently populated places in Northern Canada in 1958. It also indicates, within certain limits, the number of permanent inhabitants at each place and distinguishes between those places which are incorporated and those which are not. Also shown on this map are the extents of other populated places maps of the 3rd Edition Atlas of Canada (plates 95 to 98). A table listing populated places in the territories and northern parts of six provinces along with geographical coordinates accompanies.
