Description

This map shows area, degree and depth of permafrost as well as glaciers, mean annual air temperatures for permafrost areas and localities where pingos occur. Pingos are material uplifted by an ice core, creating symmetrical hills that may be more than 30 metres high and up to 0.4 kilometres in diameter.
