NEW Important security information

Why do I need a Government of Canada epass to access My Account?

We have made more services and information available with My Account. The security and protection of confidential client information is the CRA's highest priority when offering services over the Internet. In order to achieve this, we have enhanced our procedures for accessing My Account and included registering for a Government of Canada epass. This process requires the mailing of a CRA Activation Code, which will take approximately five business days to receive (15 days if outside Canada or the U.S.). For more information see Frequently asked questions.

How do I register for a Government of Canada epass to access My Account?

To access the services under My Account for the first time you will be asked to register for a Government of Canada epass. This registration process is done in three steps and you will be required to provide some personal information. Once you have completed the registration process, you will be able to access your personal information within My Account by simply logging in, using your User ID and Password. For more information see Frequently asked questions.

What if I moved recently?

If you have moved recently and are registering for an epass with the CRA for the first time, please contact our e-service Helpdesk to change your address. If you already have an epass, log in and change your address online.

Can a representative access My Account?

No, currently a representative cannot access your account online. Only the social insurance number holder can access My Account. Spouses, family members, and authorized representatives cannot access the private information of another person. See Third-party online access for more details.

Do I have to accept the security message?

Selecting "Always" means you will never encounter this message again. If you select "Yes" instead, you will be prompted to reply to this security message every time you enter this site.
