Stakeholder Engagement |
As part of a strategy to engage and dialogue with external stakeholders on issues of mutual concern, Export Development Canada (EDC) regularly holds meetings of various types with interested parties:
- Public consultations and
- Dialogue and Information Sessions.
Public Consultations |
EDC holds public consultations to solicit the opinions of informed external stakeholders on proposed policy changes. Most recently, public consultations were convened around the Disclosure Policy and the proposed revisions to the Environmental Review Framework. |
To ensure neutrality, EDC contracts an independent third party to organize and conduct these consultations which are held in major centres across Canada. Participants represent a cross-section of stakeholders from customers to non-governmental organizations and experts in the relevant topics.

Dialogue and Information Sessions
Dialogue and information sessions constitute part of EDC’s stakeholder engagement strategy to inform interested external stakeholders about EDC practices or policies. Participation is limited to those with a demonstrated interest in the subject to be addressed.
