Export Development Canada is very proud to be included among Canada’s Top 100 Employers for the 4th consecutive
year. Our achievement is especially notable this year, as Macleans reported a record 52,000 employers across
Canada interested in this year’s competition. After reviewing the recruitment histories, 6, 000 employers were
invited to apply. Of these, 100 were recognized as outstanding employers that lead their industries in attracting
and retaining quality employees.

- EDC has a comprehensive performance management program. Employees meet with their managers to set goals and objectives for the upcoming year; managers provide ongoing coaching and feedback as well as mid-year reviews; and finally, employees and managers meet for a final appraisal.
- Employees are recognized for performance excellence through individual & team lunches, dinners and recreational activities.
EDC also has a company subsidized social committee. The committee organizes lunch-hour seminars and fun
activities through-out the year.
EDC provides tuition subsidies for courses related to an employee’s current position.

EDC actively supports a variety of local and national charitable initiatives; the United Way, Toy Mountain, the
Ottawa Snowsuit Fund and sponsorship of the Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
EDC also supports university students across the country through a number of programs. In addition to hiring
co-op and summer students, EDC recently established a scholarship program as part of its youth education
and employment strategy. Annual scholarships are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students across
Canada interested in international business, finance or international relations, a unique charitable program
that also strengthens EDC’s mission of enhancing Canada’s international trade.
