  EDC Appoints New Regional Vice-President for Quebec
   
  OTTAWA - February 7, 2002 - Mr. Ronald Dahms, Export Development Canada senior vice-president, Business Development, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Françoise Faverjon-Fortin as regional vice-president, Quebec.

Ms. Faverjon-Fortin has worked in the area of international trade and investment for sixteen years and has considerable experience in business development, financing and export risk management. In her more than ten years at EDC, she has held positions with increasing responsibilities. Prior to joining EDC, she was employed by the Conference Board in Ottawa and the World Trade Center in New York. Ms. Faverjon-Fortin holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from l'Université Laval and an MBA in International Finance, with distinction, from the State University of New York.

Ms. Faverjon-Fortin is Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Dandurand Chair of Strategic and Diplomatic Studies at Université du Québec à Montréal and sits on the International Relations Council of Montreal (CORIM) and the International Trade Committee of Quebec Manufacturers and Exporters (MEQ). She also periodically teaches export financing to students in the MBA program at l'École des Hautes études commerciales.

"One of the cornerstones of EDC's corporate goals is to increase the number of customers served to 10 000 by 2004. Ms. Faverjon-Fortin's appointment will help ensure that we meet that goal," says Mr. Dahms.
