Electronic Service Delivery

As part of the government on-line initiative, Indian and Northern Affairs have introduced a number of fully interactive web-based tools.

Applications grouped by Program or Service.


Aboriginal Bursary System (ABS)

This electronic guide facilitates eligible Aboriginal students to quickly access a national directory comprising of organizations and institutions that offer more than 500 awards, totalling more than $2.5 million.


First Nation Land Register System (FNLRS)

FNLRS is a database of instruments registered in the Indian Lands Registry relating to Reserve Lands under the First Nation Land Management Act. The FNLRS allows all users to perform enquiries and generate reports on data in the system. Electronic copies of instruments registered in the First Nation Land Register System can also be viewed and printed from the system. To find Reserve Land records under the Indian Act please use the Indian Lands Registry System (ILRS).


First Nation Profiles (FNP)

The First Nation Profile Site allows quick and easy access to current national First Nation community profiles. Profiles include information of general interest about the First Nation, the First Nation's government, Tribal Councils and reserves.


Housing & Infrastructure Assets

Housing & Infrastructure Assets data include several key components: housing counts and conditions; water delivery and sewage disposal services; and community services.

ILRS is a database of instruments registered in the Indian Lands Registry relating to Reserve Lands and Crown Lands. The ILRS allows all users to perform enquiries and generate reports on data in the system. Electronic copies of instruments registered in the Indian Lands Registry can also be viewed and printed from the system. To find First Nations Land records under the First Nation Land Management Act please use the First Nation Land Register System (FNLRS).


Land Sales System (LSS)

The Land Sales System is a database of information pertaining to lands which have been surrendered for sale by Indian Bands


Netlands

Netlands is a computer application which can be used in the management of land transactions on reserve lands. Designed to help DIAND and Band staff manage lands projects and associated land instrument details.


Non-Registered On-Reserve Population (NRORPS)

The Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development (DIAND) and First Nations recognize that there is a need for a more complete count of on-reserve population. A more complete count would effectively support a variety of business and policy needs. Counted are individuals who are not registered under the Indian Act and who ordinarily reside on reserve. Individuals awaiting registration while residing on reserve are also included. Access to this application is limited to authorized users only.


Northern Information Network (NIN)

The Northern Information Network (NIN) encourages information sharing about the Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut for more effective decision making in the areas such as resource management and economic development. NIN supports a variety of research initiatives in and about the North, including project impact assessments, sustainable development strategies, wildlife management planning, land-use planning, and emergency preparedness.


Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business (PSAB)

The federal government launched the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business (PSAB) to help Aboriginal firms do more contracting with all our departments and agencies.


Proposal Information Management System (PIMS)

The Proposal Information Management System (PIMS) tracks economic development proposals that are in progress or have been accepted or rejected, and allows the user to document justification for each assessment decision. Thus INAC officials can inform interested parties on the status of their proposal at any stage of the assessment process. The persons most likely to work with PIMS are the economic development officers who assess the proposals and then make recommendations on funding.


Special Education Training Opportunities (SETO)

Electronic Directory for Special Education Training Opportunities was created to provide teachers of Aboriginal students with special needs valuable information on professional development opportunities. It enables users to search for training programs in special education offered at post-secondary institutions across Canada.
