Accreditation and Registration
Before being authorized to certify devices covered by the Weights and Measures Act on behalf of Measurement Canada, a technician must be employed by an accredited organization or a registered organization or one that is in the process of being accredited or registered and the technician must have successfully completed the training required for the field of application.
Course pre-requisites
- Technician is employed by an organization which has paid all applicable accreditation or registration fees.
- For organizations seeking accreditation, the formal documentation review of their Quality Assurance manual must be completed (or very close to being completed) prior to the technician(s) receiving the training.
These training modules are available:
Please note:
- Due to limited interest at this point, the Pipe Prover, Bulk Propane and Mass Flow Meter training will be deferred to early spring 2005 (more details to follow).
- The Bulk Metering sessions will be offered for this fall. The training will apply not only for Downstream Petroleum Bulk metering applications, but also for Retail Petroleum Bulk metering applications (truck mounted bulk metering).
- Measurement Canada has evaluated the feedback from the first training sessions. We acknowledge that adding to the length of the course will increase the costs to organizations that have signed up for the second round of training. However, we believe that doing this will be of substantial benefit to the organization's personnel that are attending and will enhance the quality of the training. We also believe that this will improve the likelihood of gaining successful results.
