The Geoscience Data Repository (GDR), is a collection of Earth Sciences Sector geoscience databases that is managed and accessed by a series of Information Services (GDRIS). This site allows for you to discover, view and download, free of charge, the following information using these services:

• MIRAGE - Geoscience map images
  

  The GSC has published thousands of maps since the mid-1800's. More than 7000 of these maps have been scanned and are available through the MIRAGE site.

• Digital geoscience maps (WMS capabilities)
  

  The Geological Survey of Canada has published about 400 maps digitally. The geological polygons for approximately 250 of these maps are currently being made available to find, preview, and download as shape files through this map search tool.

• Aeromagnetic, geochemical, gravity, radioactivity and Lithoprobe data
  

  The datasets listed above are available, free of charge, for viewing and downloading using this Web Map Server and data delivery tool.

• Geochemical survey metadata
  

  This site provides searchable metadata for over 500 geochemical surveys conducted across Canada since the 1950s.

• Canadian geochronology knowledge base
  

  The compilation represents publicly available reports of geochronological information for Canada

• Energy - Fossil Fuels data discovery tool
  (WMS capabilities)
  

  An interactive map tool, which facilitates the discovery of data, related to fossil fuels (oil, gas, coal) in Canada.

• Mineral Deposits
  

  This site provides access to the Mineral Deposit Database and a Canadian Mineral Deposit Synthesis that describes important mineral deposit classes in Canada.

• Lexicon of Canadian Geological Names (CGKN)
  

  This site provides information about over 12,000 geological names used in Canada. The names are from several sources, now stored in a single database.

• GeoPub
  

  Publications available for free download
