Advisory Committee Reports
In 2002, the Secretary of State asked the Advisory Committee on Co-operatives to provide specific concrete examples of how the co-operative approach can help bring solutions in line with public policy objectives. More particularly, the Committee was asked to focus on four priority areas: agriculture, rural development, aboriginal development and health care. The Committee produced the following four reports which highlight co-operative success stories, identify opportunities and impediments, present public policy arguments for the use of the co-op model in one of the priority areas of Government, and advance concrete recommendations. NOTE: The term of the Advisory Committee expired in April 2003. It was replaced by the Co-operative Development Initiative Steering Committee.
