As I said at the beginning, this is what our Social Development Partnerships Program is focussed on – creating knowledge; building bridges within communities and across the country; sharing knowledge; supporting social inclusion; all with the goal of helping children and families, and groups that may be vulnerable or excluded – to build healthy communities and a healthy country., The Canadian Child Care Federation is receiving $359,415 for its project Strengthening Language and Literacy Skills of Children in Early Childhood Settings, under which a bilingual literacy resource kit will be created for child care practitioners and others who work with young children., It invests in projects that support effective practices, that build knowledge and help ensure that this knowledge is shared with others, in projects that nuture partnerships and networks in a range of fields, including early learning and child care, family welfare and community research.
As I said, this is what our Social Development Partnerships Program is focussed on: creating knowledge; building bridges within communities and across the country; sharing knowledge; supporting social inclusion; all with the goal of helping children and families, and groups that may be vulnerable or excluded, to build healthy communities and a healthy country., So when you have booklets like the one we're talking about today, when you have those earlier opportunities through early years centres, through early learning and childcare centres, through resource materials, it's immensely important because it gives you a chance at an earlier time to start writing the story in a more constructive way that can lead to the next chapter being more constructive and, the next, and so on., Social Development Canada was created just less than two years ago, inheriting from other departments a set of policies, programs, and services for seniors, people with disabilities, children, families and caregivers, and communities, and inheriting all the values and motivations that had set them in motion.
