Service Canada - Saskatchewan Region

In Saskatchewan, over 100 front-line staff in 12 Service Canada points of service help over 43,000 Canadians each month to access the full range of government services and benefits they want and need. Service Canada Centres are located in: Estevan, La Ronge, Melfort, Moose Jaw, North Battleford and North Central Regina, as well as Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon, Swift Current, Weyburn, and Yorkton.

An additional two outreach sites will be opened in Shaunavon and Meadow Lake by the end of October, 2005. These sites will be open to the public for a certain number of days per week, with established hours. A further nine outreach locations will be opened in other communities around the province.

North Central Service Canada Centre

Regina's North Central Service Canada Centre is Service Canada's first community service facility. The Centre, co-located with Aboriginal Family Services at 2901 Fifth Avenue, was chosen to help strengthen the connection between the young, urban Aboriginal community and the Government of Canada, and to improve access to Government of Canada services and benefits.

North Central Regina, with a population of over 10,000, has been the focus of an ongoing intergovernmental partnership - the Regina Inner City Community Partnership - a community-based approach to address longstanding issues and challenges facing Regina's inner city community, under the leadership of the inner city community. The work of this partnership has lead to establishing a Service Canada Centre in this community.

The North Central Service Canada Centre has a full-time outreach officer and two part-time students. The City of Regina has dedicated one of its employees to the site.

Service Offerings:

The Centre will be from 12 to 6 p.m. daily to ensure it is accessible to targeted clientele, in particular youth in school.
